How RAI Can Help Your Child — Fee-Based Private Tutoring
RAI tutors provide specialized instruction to help children develop the skills necessary for fluent and proficient reading, writing, and spelling. Our tutors receive intensive training in our Orton-Gillingham based methodology. This instruction begins by exploring the speech sound system of our language during which children are led to discover the features of individual speech sounds. Sessions then proceed with direct, explicit instruction in matching those speech sounds to the letters and letter patterns used to spell them. Repetition and practice within the framework of the structured lesson plan help these skills reach a level of automaticity needed for fluent reading. Multisensory strategies and techniques are used throughout the teaching to strengthen learning and memory. Learning is engaging and fun as students learn to unlock the written word!
