Reading ASSIST Institute - Unlocking the written word... one sound at a time

The training, materials, mentoring and other educational opportunities are provided free of charge with a commitment to volunteer one half day per week during the school day for two semesters after completion of the basic training course. Kindergarten Intervention volunteers typically spend about three hours per week volunteering.  Volunteers tutoring students in the early elementary grades volunteer approximately five to six hours per week. This includes actual tutoring time, lesson planning, and team communication.
